A registered manager is required for:

·       Residential service in Harrow, supporting autistic adults with learning needs.

·       Supported Living service in Brent - supporting autistic adults with learning needs, mental health and complex health needs.

Overview of the role 

* As a Registered Manager you are legally responsible for the operational day to day management of the service ensuring that your service is compliant with relevant legislation including compliance to the Health and Social Care Act 2008, Care Quality Commission guidance and Callaway Care and Support policies and procedures.

 * It is an expectation that Registered Managers are visible and leading from the front and this means being regularly on the floor and not being office based (away from people we support and support teams in an office) or working from home.

Responsibilities 

1. To maintain a high-quality service of CQC “good” or better rating and the same within the Callaway Care and Support audit on 5 keys lines of enquiry. 

2. To ensure the service complies with the requirements of the Health & Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2010, Care Quality Commission Guidance ‘Fundamental Standards of Quality & Safety’ and Callaway Care and Support policies and procedures. 

3. To carry out the monthly Registered Managers audit to monitor the service performance. 

4. Where service improvements are identified in the monthly audit or any other external or internal audits; the actions are added to the service development plan (SDP). 

5. Ensure the SDP is maintained as a live document and kept updated at least monthly as a minimum, with actions (depending on criticality) completed in a timely manner. 

6. Ensure the online staff rota system is updated for your service with a minimum four-week rolling rota and shifts are locked down on a daily basis and within commissioned hours budget. All payroll, month-end and lockdown deadlines met. 

7. To always ensure the service delivery is person centred and this is evidenced in the support plans, rotas, staff and service meetings, induction, training and culture of the service. 

8. To ensure that people we support are always safeguarded against all types of abuse and neglect. 

9. To ensure that all necessary records are complete, accurate and legible, and available to authorised persons when required. 

10. To ensure clear understanding of MCA and DoLS, that these are reflected in care.

11.Responsible for recruitment in your service~ Providing your line manager with retention stats and reducing Time To Hire for new applicants.

 

Covid Management:

Your legal and moral responsibility to stay safe, for you and those you are in contact with:

-       Biweekly rapid testing (Lateral Flow) and weekly PCR testing, only discontinuing when Government Law and public health guidance changes.

-       Monitoring and risk assessing cross working when staff have a second job.

-       Vaccine Mandatory audits to be completed quarterly

-       Fully compliant with wearing PPE and completing unannounced checks to monitor staff

-       Support individuals (if consent is given) to wear their face mask when out in the community

-       Excellent infection control measures. Infection control audits are completed.

-       Report PPE concerns and breaches of government advice / legislation to your line manager

-       Follow the latest government legislation and guidance.

-       Update capacity tracking system, as required by the local council.

-       Keep up to date with NHS England, Local Authority, and public health advice

-       Reporting Covid-19 concerns immediately

-       Implement COVID protocol to support people when 2 or more staff have tested positive.

 

Requirements

Strong experience of managing and leading a large team in delivering results, sound knowledge of supporting people with behaviours that challenge and working in a Person Centred way 

·       2 years at care management level, diploma level 5 in health and social care ~ level 4 or registered manager award (RMA)

·       Experience of working in an Autism, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health sector environment as a Registered Manager or above.

·       Ability to dual manage residential and supported living services.

·       The desire and ability to ensure that each person we support receives the care and support that is appropriate to their assessed individual needs.

·       An understanding of CQC assessment criteria.

·       Experience in managing and developing a staff team.

·       Be qualified or willing

·       A good understanding of risk management and health and safety management.

·       Be self-motivated, organised, resilient flexible and caring.

·       Excellent administration and IT skills.
